What do you believe about yourself?
What about your abilities?
It’s important to know what you believe because those beliefs impact what you do, the decisions you make and the outlook you have on your life.
Think about it….
If you believe you will never save enough money to go on a vacation, how successful will you be at actually saving the money?
On the other hand, if you believe you WILL save enough money, it drastically changes the outcome.
Why? Because our beliefs shape our behavior!
The WILD can be dangerous, scary, challenging, and difficult but does that make it "bad"?
Nope! It was designed that way for a reason. It is beautiful and purposeful.
You were also designed with beauty and purpose for your wild life.
You already have everything you need to thrive in the present moment.
Trust your creator.
Adopt this mantra and engage with your life in confidence. You get to decide how you show up for the life that is FOR YOU.
Ever been in an argument with your spouse?
Ever disagree with a friend or acquaintance?
What was your goal during that interaction? If you’re like most people, it was probably to try to get them to see your point.
(I admit, I’m guilty of this).
But what if we started working as hard to try to see their point?
If we want to enrich our relationships, this is a must.
And even if we still disagree, at least we can understand why we disagree which takes some of the ‘heat’ out of the topic.
The key is to remember this during a disagreement.....
Step 1: Learn to recognize when you're reacting.
Step 2: Make yourself comfortable.
Step 3: Examine what happened.
Step 4: Figure out what YOU need to take care of yourself.
Remember when you were a kid and you would get underwear for Christmas?
None of us liked that. We wanted toys - something fun to play with.
But those underwear came in handy didn’t they? I mean, there are just certain things in life you gotta have!
There are experiences in life that aren’t fun, but they happen because - well - that’s just life. If we expect every day to automatically be fun, worry-free, and happy, we’re going to be disappointed.
Just like when you opened that that box of underwear from grandma, you can do the same with the less-fun days.... you smile and say thank you, because you know that life, just like grandma, gives us things we need out of love.
This quote hit me hard. You know that feeling when your emotions well up in your heart and expand through your body and take your breath away?
Maybe I reacted so strongly because I was feeling defeated about a few things lately. Things I’ve been trying to do - good things with good intentions that haven’t worked out. And the feeling of being a failure slipped into my mind and started making itself at home.
So this quote was very timely for me.
No, I am not a failure just because something I tried didn’t work out.
And I cannot - will not - give up trying. Because if I never try, I certainly will never have the chance to succeed and make a difference.
Same goes for you.
